In this guide, we will go over how to set up a new distribution channel for Emerald Coast by Owner.
Set up Process
To set up a new channel go to Configuration > Distribution Channels (under PMS Setup tab) > Click the +Channel button:
Name: Enter 'Emerald Coast by Owner'
Active: Make sure the checkbox is checked to make the channel active.
Reservation Mode: Leave on Confirmed Reservation mode.
Reservation Type: Select option. Creating a separate reservation type for this channel is optional. You can use your normal Guest reservation type as it will follow all your rules that you have set up just like it being made as a reservation from your booking engine. If you would like to separate out your reservation type to something like 'OTAs' (which could be used for a channel like Emerald Coast by Owner or others that are similar that you may use in the future). If you do create a new reservation type then you will need to make sure all your reservation charges by unit get added to this new reservation type. You may want to consider creating a reservation type for OTAs that can be set up for connections like Emerald Coast by Owner. This way you can filter in reports and setup fees that apply to that reservation type.
Travel Agent: Make sure you have a Travel Agent setup so it can be selected.
Minimum Notice: The minimum number of days of advance notice for a booking made on this channel. The default value is 0, which allows same-day bookings. For most channels, this can be overridden directly on the unit itself.
Maximum Booking Window: This is the maximum date that you will accept a booking for this channel. By default, this value is 540 days. This value can also be overridden directly for specific units.
Confirmation/Request Emails: Let the system know if you would like to be notified when a new online booking is made and what email to notify you at.
Leave the following fields as not check-marked:
Enable Nodes API
All Units Available
All Reservations Available
Allow Custom Pricing
Reservation Mode: Select 'Electronic (Credit and E-Check)'
Payment Method: If the channel is the merchant of record then a Net Commission payment should be set up so it can be selected. If the channel is not the merchant of record then this field can be left as not selected.
After all fields are set you can click the 'Save Channel' button at the bottom of the page.
Next, you will click the 'Edit' button on the channel and notice the API keys to the right side of the page. You will send an email over to your contact at Emerald Coast by Owner with the Endpoint URL, Key, and Secret over to the channel so they have access to your system:
Activating Channel on Units:
The final step is to activate any of your units that you want including on this channel. You will activate each property by going to the left nav > Property Management icon > Unit Profiles > Search and click on unit name. Once the unit loads to the right side of the screen, click on the Channels tab and click the edit button next to Emerald Coast by Owner. Next, you will see a pop-up. Within pop-up window, you will click the Activate button.
Once the Channel has been activated it will say 'yes' for enabled:
You will follow the process above to activate each unit separately that you want to be on this channel.
